About Ms. HuberChelsea Huber is originally from Williston, Vermont. She graduated summa cum laude from Meredith College with a Bachelor's of Music degree in Music Education. While a student at Meredith, she studied voice with Dr. Demar Neal and piano with Dr. Kent Lyman.
Chelsea's performance experiences include two solo recitals during her time at Meredith (piano and voice), the International Young Artists Project in Monte San Savino, Italy, the Oklahoma City Haydn Festival, Meredith College's Concerto/Aria concert with the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra, and performing with the North Carolina Symphony as a choral singer. She is currently a member of the North Carolina Master Chorale and the North Carolina Opera Chorus. Chelsea is a member of NAfME and NCMEA (National Association for Music Education), ACDA (American Choral Directors Association), Pi Kappa Lambda (American honor society for music), Sigma Alpha Iota (international music fraternity), Kappa Delta Pi (international education honor society), and Kappa Nu Sigma (academic honor society). In addition to teaching music and chorus at Southern Middle, Chelsea has taught private voice and piano lessons for four years, and is a review writer for CVNC.org, an online arts journal that covers music, theater, and other arts events in the Triangle Area and beyond. She is also the Youth Choir Director at the Community United Church of Christ in Raleigh, NC. |
